Ukrainian in two sets defeated the fourth seeded Shmidlova
Ukrainian tennis player Katerina Beindl reached the final of the tournament ITF W100 in the Spanish city of Les Francheses del Valles.
In the semifinal match, the Ukrainian defeated the fourth seed of the tournament Anna Karolina Shmidlova from Slovakia. The intense duel lasted more than two hours.
In the first set, the opponents fought hard in almost every game. The Ukrainian managed to take Shmidlova’s serve three times, losing two of her own, and took the lead.
The Slovak tennis player got the opportunity to win back by leading 5:2 in the second game. But Katerina was able to transfer the match to a tie-break, where she confidently won.
Katerina will play her second final of the season at the ITF level. In July, she reached the decisive match at the W60 tournament in Montpellier.
During the tournament, Beindl defeated Arancha Rus from the Netherlands, as well as two Spaniards Yvonne Cavalier-Reimers and Andrea Lazaro Garcia. In the final, the Ukrainian will face Jasmine Paolini from Italy.
