Ukrainian debuts at the WTA Finals
Ukrainian Ludmila Kichenok commented on the draw Final WTA Tournamentwhere she will perform in doubles in a duet with a Latvian Elena Ostapenko.
“Both groups are very strong. I didn’t really want to be in the same group with Kudermetova, and everyone understands why, but we have what we have. By the way, we defeated each of these teams in the summer, so in general this is a good lot.”
“Everything was very beautiful, the girls are all beautiful too. As they say, it was a day to remember. On the day of the ceremony, there were a lot of things to do, they are certainly pleasant, but they take a lot of energy. The organization of the tournament is good, but since this is the first Final for me, I have nothing to compare with yet. But I can say that you definitely feel special when compared to other competitions.
“As for the playing conditions at the tournament, so far everything is fine. I like the court, it’s a bit slow and the bounce is low.”
Recall that Ukrainian Lyudmila Kichenok will perform in the doubles of the WTA Final Tournament. Together with Elena Ostapenko from Latvia, the duo will play the first match with a pair of Veronika Kudermetova/Eliza Mertens (-/Belgium, 4) on November 1st.
The final WTA tournament will be held from October 31 to November 7 in Fort Worth (USA). Tennis players will play three matches in the group stage, the top two from each group will advance to the semi-finals.
