Lyudmila Kichenok lost in the second doubles match of the WTA Finals

Ukrainian woman, together with Elena Ostapenko, lost in a super tie-break to a pair of Dabrowski/Olmos

Ukrainian tennis player Ludmila Kichenok paired with Elena Ostapenko lost in her second doubles match at the WTA Finals.

The duo lost in three sets to a pair Gabriela Dabrowski/Juliana Olmos (Canada/Mexico, 2). In the first set, Kichenok and Ostapenko led with a break 6:5, but did not hold the serve and lost in a tie-break.

In the second game Lyudmila and Elena played more confidently and easily won 6:2. The fate of the match was decided in a super tie-break. Kichenok and Ostapenko missed the match point and lost the duel.

In the second meeting of the day, Veronika Kudermetova and Eliza Mertens defeated the duo Anna Danilina/Beatrice Addad Maya. In the final round, Kichenok and Ostapenko will play exactly with a couple of representatives from Kazakhstan and Brazil.

In the first match, a Ukrainian and a Latvian lost to a pair of Kudermetova/Mertens. To reach the semi-finals, you need to win the third match. Also, the pair of Kudermetova / Mertens must beat the duet of Dabrowski / Olmos, otherwise the latter will leave the group.

Recall that Lyudmila Kichenok became only the second Ukrainian to play in the Final tournament. Previously, Elina Svitolina, who became the champion of the tournament in 2018, was selected for this competition in singles.
