The biggest victory in the career of a 19-year-old Danish tennis player
Holger Rune won the tournament ATP Masters 1000 in Paris. In the final, the 19-year-old Dane beat the former world number one Novak Djokovic.
The first set was left for the Serbian tennis player. Djokovic took advantage of the only break point, took the Dane’s serve and then won the game. In the second set already Rune used his only chance to make a break.
At the very end of the decisive game, Djokovic again lost the serve. Serb imposed a fight in the next game, but Rune, having played six break points, snatched the victory in the match.
For Holger, winning the tournament in Paris is the biggest success of his career at the moment. This year, Rune has two more titles at the ATP 250 tournaments – in Stockholm and Munich.
Starting next week, Rune, who is ranked 18th in the ATP rankings, will enter the top 10 best tennis players in the world for the first time in his career. Djokovic has lost points and will become the eighth racket.
