Sventek sensationally lost in the semifinals to the seventh racket of the world
Carolyn Garcia and Arina Sobolenko became finalists Final WTA Tournament in US Fort Worth.
In the first semi-final, Garcia confidently defeated Maria Sakkari from Greece in straight sets. It took the Frenchwoman just over an hour to win.
But Sobolenko unexpectedly defeated the first racket of the world, Iga Sventek, in three sets. In 2 hours and 9 minutes, Arina made 12 aces and played better at the reception. Sobolenko defeated the Pole in the third installment, taking five games in a row.
Garcia and Sobolenko will play in the final of the WTA Finals for the first time in their careers. The game will take place on November 8, starting at 02:00 Kyiv time.
