So, together with Roberto Bautista Agut and Pablo Carreño Busta, they went in search of a new semi-final. The problem is that they faced Borna Coric and Marin Cilic, who took advantage of a fast and covered court to impose their game in the two games played on Wednesday in Malaga. under the gaze of 9,500 fans.

Coric led the way by beating Bautista by 6-4 and 7-6(4) so Cilic then ended the series by defeating Carreño in a battle that lasted over 3 hours and ended 5-7, 6-3 and 7-6(5) in favor of the winner of the 2014 US Open.
