Italy and Canada advance to Davis Cup semi-finals

The second pair were Australia and Croatia

prefabricated Italy and Canada become semi-finalists Davis Cup. They joined Croatia and Australia who qualified for the next round the day before.

The Canadians beat Germany in the quarter-finals. Felix Auger-Aliassime defeated Oscar Otte in straight sets, and Denis Shapovalov lost to Jan-Lennard Struff. The result of the confrontation was decided in a doubles meeting, in which the Canadians were stronger.

The Italian team defeated the US team. Lorenzo Sonego defeated Francis Tiafoe while Lorenzo Musetti lost to Taylor Fritz. In the doubles match, Simone Bolelli and Fabio Fognini defeated the duet of Tommy Paul / Jax Sock and brought the overall victory.

Italy reached the semi-finals of the Davis Cup for the first time in eight years and will face Canada. The second pair of semi-finalists were the teams of Australia and Croatia. A day earlier, the Australians passed the Netherlands, and the Croats knocked out the hosts of the final tournament, Spain.

The semi-finals will take place on November 25 and 26. The final in Malaga will take place on 27 November.
