Nicolás Jarry is excluded from the main draw of Roland Garros after falling in qualifying against Juan Pablo Varillas

The national tennis player lost 5-7, 6-4 and 7-6(5) against the Peruvian in the final of the qualifying round of the French tournament.

Roland Garros will no longer have a new Chilean in the competition. This Friday Nicolás Jarry (138th in the ATP rankings) was dropped from the main draw of the French tournament after falling in three sets against Peruvian Juan Pablo Varillas (122nd) 5-7, 6-4 and 7-6 (5) after two hours and 56 minutes of play.

The first set began equally for both athletes in the initial four games, already in the fifth came the Peruvian’s first blow. The athlete from the neighboring country attacked with everything and won his fight to snatch Nico’s serve, confirming the break, which meant going up 4-2.

The duel began to change in the tenth game. Varillas had a double option to win the set with his serve, but Jarry was able to resist them and went further, as he took advantage of the first break option he reached to take his rival’s serve.

The competition continued to be favorable to the Chilean, since, in addition to confirming it, in the 12th Game he struggled and ended up signing another break, taking the first set 7-5 .

In the second, after an exchange of services in the second and third games, Varillas had to wait for the ninth Game go forward. Jarry tried to fight back and had two break points, but the effort didn’t pay off and the Peruvian took the second set 6-4 .

Already in the final set, a new exchange of breaks occurred in the sixth and seventh games which predicted a tight closing. And so it was, because everything had to be defined in the decisive gamealthough here the Inca representative was far superior to that of Santiago. Jarry gave up three serves against one of the Peruvians who ended up winning the set 7-6(5), the match and the main draw quota at Roland Garros .
