Krutykh updated his personal record in the ATP rankings
Ukrainian tennis player, leader of the national rating, Alexey Krutykh commented on the past season and shared his expectations for 2023.
“Yes, this year I started with the 400th and set myself the main task – to get to the Australian Open in 2023. Therefore, I am very happy that everything turned out this way, and I can say that I have completed the task for this year.”
“Getting to Australia was the main task for this year, you can say that I worked all year for this, so of course I will fly there. Now I have arrived in Bratislava to prepare for the new season. Ilya Marchenko helped me here, he provided all the conditions and there are a lot of very good players here. So I hope to prepare well.”
“Finance is always a difficult issue. Yes, this year I earned 45 thousand dollars, but this is excluding taxes and plus the costs are accommodation, flights, food at tournaments, even small consumables – strings, winding sneakers, so if you go to zero, this can already be said to be a plus.
Recall that Krutykh will be the only representative of Ukraine in the men’s qualifying tournament of the Australian Open-2023. For the 22-year-old from Kiev, this will be his debut performance at the Grand Slam tournament. Qualifying matches will start in Melbourne on January 9th.
Krutykh also updated his personal record in the ATP rankings, climbing to 185th place, and won two Challengers in 2022.
