The Ukrainian flew to Australia, where she is preparing for the first Grand Slam tournament of the season
Ukrainian tennis player Lyudmila Kichenok plans to continue competing in doubles next year with Elena Ostapenko from Latvia.
“This season I will continue to play with Elena Ostapenko. We have an agreement to perform together this year, maybe next. We’ll see how everything works out for us.”
“In the off-season, we practically didn’t manage to relax, because we moved from Latvia to Bratislava by car with all our things, and household issues, finding an apartment took a lot of time and effort. My off-season has passed in Slovakia, next year we will live there. On December 21, we have already arrived in Adelaide and are continuing our preparations here.”
The Ukrainian entered the Australian Open doubles tournament. In Adelaide, Lyudmila is preparing for the first WTA 500 tournament of the season. The tennis player had her first training session with Dayana Yastremskaya.
In 2022, Lyudmila Kichenok and Elena Ostapenko won two WTA titles (Birmingham and Cincinnati), and also reached the semi-finals of Roland Garros, Wimbledon and the Final Tournament.
