The third Ukrainian in the tournament – Marta Kostyuk
Three Ukrainians will play in the qualification of the tournament WTA 500 in Adelaide (Australia).
In the first round of selection Angelina Kalininaseeded under the first number, will play against her compatriot Dayana Yastremskaya.
Marta Kostyuk will play the opening match with Christina Buksha from Spain. This year, Kostyuk beat the Spaniard in the qualification of the WTA 1000 tournament in Madrid.
Qualifying matches in Adelaide will start on December 31 and will begin at 01:30 am Kyiv time.
Recall that five Ukrainians declared themselves for the qualification of the Australian Open-2023 – Kateryna Beindl, Dayana Yastremska, Lesya Tsurenko, Daria Snigur and Katarina Zavatskaya. Angelina Kalinina and Marta Kostyuk went directly to the main draw.
Qualifying matches will start in Melbourne on January 9th. The main part of the Australian Open 2023 will take place from 16 to 29 January.
