Aslan Karatsev can win the ATP tournament in Pune if he plays as confidently as in the first round against the Spaniard Pablo Andujar (6:1, 6:3), believes the former Russian tennis player Andrei Olkhovsky.
– In my opinion, Aslan played with confidence, especially in the first set. Tactically, that’s how you have to play against the Spaniards. He played a lot on the pitch, didn’t give the opponent much time and Andujar couldn’t cope with the proposed pace.
Judging by Karatsev’s performance in the first game, he can beat many opponents in this tournament. Against Andujar, he played with confidence. Besides, it all depends on whether he will have that confidence in the next game. The first opponent was quite comfortable, then of course it will be more difficult. But if Aslan plays with that much confidence then he has a good chance of winning,” Olkhovsky told RB Sport.
Karatsev will face Tim Van Rijthoven of the Netherlands in the second round.
