Katerina reached the quarter-finals of the singles and the semi-finals of the doubles
Ukrainian tennis player Katerina Volodko reached the quarterfinals of the tournament ITF W40 in Nonthaburi (Thailand).
In two hours, the Ukrainian, seeded under the eighth number, beat the local tennis player Punnin Kovapitukted, who received the wild card of the competition. Katerina fired twice, made five double faults and snatched victory in the second set on a tie-break.
On the same day, Volodko played the second match in the tournament, in doubles, along with Japanese tennis player Hiroko Kuwata. The third seeded easily dealt with a pair from Thailand Peangtarn Plipuek/Mananchaya Savangkaev.
Recall that in the first round the Ukrainian beat Salaktip Ouanmuang. In the quarterfinals, Katerina will play against fourth seed Dalila Jakupović from Slovenia. In the semi-finals of the doubles, the Ukrainian and the Japanese will meet with Gabriela Knutson from the Czech Republic and Yang Ya Yi from Taiwan.
