Ukrainian tennis player Lesya Tsurenko reached the semi-finals of the tournament ITF W60 in Australian Canberra.
In the 1/4 finals, the Ukrainian beat the fifth seeded Eva Lis from Germany in three sets. The duel lasted two hours.
Lesya confidently won the first set, but then lost the advantage and lost in the second set. In the third set, Tsurenko made a breakthrough 4:0 and calmly brought the fight to victory.
Note that Lis was born in Kyiv, and her father once played in the Davis Cup for Ukraine. Since the beginning of the Russian military invasion of Ukraine, Eva Lis has been playing with a yellow and blue ribbon on her cap.
