World Ranking Leader Carlos Alcaraz will not participate in the next Australian Open. The Spanish tennis player said he was injured and would be forced to miss the tournament.
“When I was at my best pre-season, I got injured due to an unnatural random movement in training. This time it’s the demi-membranosus of the right leg.
I have done so much to reach my best level at the start of the tournament, but unfortunately I will not be able to play at the Australian Open. I must continue to be optimistic, recover and look to the future, Alcaraz, 19, wrote on social media.
The Australian Open 2023 is scheduled for January 16-29.
