Russian tennis player Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova said she was happy to return to competitions after an injury, despite the defeat at the tournament in Adelaide (Australia).
On Monday, Pavlyuchenkova lost against Switzerland Jill Teichman in the first round with a score of 5:7, 4:6. The 31-year-old ended last season in May due to injury.
— Despite the result, I am very happy to be back in competition after seven months of absence. I appreciate all the support I have received. See you at the Australian Open,” Pavlyuchenkova wrote on Twitter.
The Australian Open will be held in Melbourne from January 16-29. Pavlyuchenkova takes 83rd place in the world rankings.
