In the match of the first round, the Ukrainian duo defeated the pair of Latisha Zhan/Alex Guarachi (Chinese Taipei/Chile) in straight sets. The meeting lasted 1 hour 28 minutes.
Kichenok and Zimmermann won the second victory in three matches played this year. Last week, tennis players reached the second round of the WTA 500 tournament in Adelaide.
