Friendly match between Russians Daniel Medvedev and Serbian Novak Djokovic was completed after the first set due to Djokovic’s injury, according to ESPN.
The match took place on Wednesday night on center court at the Australian Open in Melbourne. During the match, Djokovic requested a medical time-out three times and eventually lost the first set with the score 4:6. The Serb refused to continue the game due to a hamstring injury.
Djokovic was replaced on the pitch by Spaniard Pablo Andujar.
Djokovic and Medvedev announced for Australian Open. The main draw of the tournament will take place from January 16-29 in Melbourne.
