Ukrainian Lyudmila Kichenok and Elena Ostapenko from Latvia made it to the semi-finals doubles of the second tournament WTA 500 in Adelaide.
In the quarterfinals, Kichenok and Ostapenko defeated Alicia Rosolska/Erin Rutliff (Poland/New Zealand) in straight sets. The winners chalked up five aces and made four breaks.
In the semi-finals, Lyudmila and Elena will play against the strongest couple in the duel between Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova / Elena Rybakina – Nicole Melikar / Samantha Stosur.
Recall that at the start of the second tournament in Adelaide, Kichenok and Ostapenko defeated Marta Kostyuk and Georgian Oksana Kalashnikova.
The Ukrainian-Latvian pair will play in the semi-finals of the tournament in Adelaide for the second week in a row. Last week, they lost at this stage to tennis players from the USA Eisha Muhammad and Taylor Townsend.
