The draw for the tournament’s main draw took place at the Australian Open.

All the rivals of the Ukrainian representatives in the first Grand Slam tournament of the season, the Australian Open, were identified.

The first racket of Ukraine – Angelina Kalinina, will initially meet with the American Coco Vandewey, who advanced to the main round from the qualification.

Marta Kostyuk will face No. 29 seeded American Amanda Anisimova, while Ekaterina Bindl will face Russia’s Kamilla Rakhimova.

The toughest opponent in the first round was determined by a blind draw for Dayana Yastremska. She will play 17th seed Elena Ostapenko from Latvia.

Lesya Tsurenko, who won the qualification, will enter the court against Karolina Muchova from the Czech Republic. Note that for Lesya this will be the 12th appearance in the main draw of the Australian Open.

The seeding is not very favorable for Ukraine’s sole representative in the men’s competition grid. Aleksey Krutykh, who won the qualification, will meet the 25th racket of the world Argentinean Diego Schwartzman.

It is noteworthy that Krutykh has never played against tennis players from the top 50 of the world ranking. The fact that Schwartzman has lost his last eight matches on the ATP tour is encouraging.
