The Russian tennis player was due to play with Spaniard Paula Badosa in the semi-finals. However, the latter did not enter the match and Kasatkina went to the finals without a fight.
The Spaniard noted that she injured her thigh in the previous match and hopes to recover by the start of the Australian Open.
In the last match of the tournament, Kasatkina will play with the winner of the pair Belinda Bencic (Switzerland) – Veronika Kudermetova (Russia).
