Four Ukrainians will play in doubles first Grand Slam of the season Australian Open 2023.
The schedule of matches of the first round of the Australian Open-2023 in doubles with the participation of Ukrainians:
Marta Kostyuk/Elena-Gabriela Ruse (Ukraine/Romania) — Danielle Collins/Heather Watson (US/UK)
Lyudmila Kichenok/Elena Ostapenko (Ukraine/Latvia, 5) — Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova/Elena Rybakina (-/Kazakhstan)
Nadezhda Kichenok/Kimberly Zimmermann (Ukraine/Belgium) — Alexandra Bozovich/Lizette Cabrera (Australia, WC)
Angelina Kalinina/Alison van Uytvank (Ukraine/Belgium) — Eri Hozumi/Tamara Zidansek (Japan/Slovenia).
Recall that Lyudmila Kichenok, along with Elena Ostapenko, lost to the pair Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova / Elena Rybakina in the semifinals of the second WTA 500 tournament in Adelaide.
We also recall that Nadezhda Kichenok failed to reach the doubles final of the WTA 250 tournament in Hobart. In the semi-finals, together with Kimberly Zimmermann from Belgium, the Ukrainian lost in straight sets to the duet Kirsten Flipkens/Laura Siegemund (Belgium/Germany).
Earlier it became known that all five Ukrainian tennis players will play the matches of the starting round of the Australian Open-2023 on Monday, January 16.
The main part of the Australian Open-2023 will be held from 16 to 29 January.
