The Ambassador of Ukraine to Australia, Vasily Miroshnichenko, published a post on Twitter in which he called on the organizers of the Australian Open to respond to the display of the Russian flag.
“I strongly condemn the public demonstrations of the Russian flag at Ukrainian tennis player Kateryna Beindl’s match today at the Australian Open. I call on Tennis Australia to immediately implement its ‘neutral flag’ policy,” wrote Miroshnichenko.
Recall that the organizers of the Australian Open allowed the Russians and Belarusians to compete under a neutral flag, and they were forbidden to use national signs and flags.
