Kostyuk: I felt a lot of improvement in my game

Despite being knocked out in the first round of Roland Garros

Third racket of Ukraine Marta Kostyuk positively assessed her performance in the singles of the current Roland Garros.

Martha left the tournament on Tuesday, losing in two sets to the Egyptian Mayar Sheriff.

“Honestly, my singles match… I don’t know how it looked from the outside, but I felt a lot of improvements in the game, improvements in my head. And even despite the fact that I lost the match, I had a fairly positive attitude. I keep training, looking for my game, looking for myself. Step by step, ”the tennis player explained.

“I would say that on me [успех] works differently, depending on the specific period. Sometimes it really motivates me, sometimes, on the contrary, it really presses, and I start thinking: ‘Well, when will I play well, because I have such potential. I work a lot, what doesn’t work, what am I doing wrong?’ But in general, it motivates me more. I’m trying to find some kind of key, I understand myself, I’m looking for something that suits me.

Kostyuk continues to perform in doubles at the French Open, where she reached the third round of the competition yesterday.

The 19-year-old Ukrainian in February updated her personal record in the WTA world rankings, rising to 49th place. Since then, the Ukrainian has fallen to 58th position.
