“Tired of injuries and broken mentally.” Rafael Nadal explains Australian Open exit

Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal spoke about a new injury which prevented him from reaching the third round of the Australian Open.

In the second round, seeded in the tournament under the first number, Nadal lost to the American mackenzie macdonald with a score of 4:6, 4:6, 5:7. During the match, the 36-year-old Spaniard needed medical attention due to hip problems.

“I felt some discomfort in my hip, then it went away. I noticed something similar the previous days, but today there was something new. I had hip problems which forced me to be treated in the past.

It’s hard to tell exactly what I have until I have an MRI. So far I don’t know if the problem is in the muscles or in the cartilage.

I’m tired and frustrated from being in recovery for most of my career. But I always accepted it. I would be lying if I said that I am not psychologically broken, — quotes the words of Nadal Marca.

In the third round, McDonald will face the winner of the pair Dalibor Svrcina (Czech Republic) – Yoshito Nishioka (Japan).
