Russian Tennis Federation (RTF) Vice-President Alexei Selivanenko has spoken about the possible reason for the Russians’ major defeat Daria Kasatkina in the first round of the Australian Open.
Russia’s first racket Kasatkina lost to compatriot Varvara Gracheva in straight sets with the score 1:6 1:6.
— It is difficult to comment on something with such a score. Dasha’s game didn’t work out, while Varvara took a chance and played very clearly, RB Sport quote Selivanenko as saying.
Gracheva’s opponent in the second round of the tournament will be Italian Lucrezia Stefanini.
