Ilya’s next opponent is Russian Gakhov
Ukrainian tennis player Ilya Marchenko made it to the final qualification of the series tournament ATP Challenger Tour in french Kempere.
In the semi-finals of the qualifying tournament, Marchenko defeated the 376th racket of the world Benjamin Loca from Zimbabwe. The meeting lasted an hour and 14 minutes.
In the first set, Ilya did not leave his opponent a chance – 6:1. And the fate of the second game was decided in a tie-break – 7:1 in favor of the Ukrainian.
Marchenko will play against Russian Ivan Gakhov in the qualifying final. The match will take place tomorrow, January 24th.
Marchenko is ranked 412th in the ATP rankings. Ilya was not included in the Ukrainian national team for the Davis Cup World Group I playoff match against Lebanon.
