The International Tennis Federation (ITF) is preparing a claim for damages against a company owned by a former Barcelona player Gerard pricks reports sport.es .
According to the source, the footballer’s company unilaterally abandoned the previously concluded agreement on hosting the Davis Cup, which was to be valid for 25 years. Under the terms of the deal, the company was to pay €40m a year to the ITF and a further €10m to participants, but was unable to meet previously agreed funding.
The ITF plans to recover debts that have accrued from previous tournament draws, as well as to compensate for damages caused.
The parties signed a cooperation contract in 2018.
