Russian tennis player Andrei Rublev told how he cheered up during the game with the Serb Novak Djokovic in the quarter-finals of the Australian Open, and also shared his plans for the near future.
On Wednesday, Rublev failed to reach the Australian Open semifinals, losing to Djokovic 1:6, 2:6, 4:6.
– Of the three times we played before with Djokovic, today he played much better than in previous encounters, even in the Final Tournament. To be honest, I tried not to think about Novak’s possible injury. I was just trying to tell myself, don’t give up, try one more game, you never know what might happen.
During this tournament I had a great victory (against Rune). As always, I will try to learn from experience and lessons. What I need to improve, I think, is very clear. Now I have enough time to prepare, to work, especially with some of the guys from the new team that I have now. We might be able to do a good two weeks of preparation before I start the indoor season. We will see. Now I have to use this time wisely to really work hard and improve some things,” Rublev told a press conference.
