Elena Rybakina from Kazakhstan became the first Australian Open 2023 finalist.
In the semi-final, Rybakina defeated Victoria Azarenka in straight sets. In the first game, everything was decided in a tie-break, which Elena won, taking two submissions from her opponent with a score of 5-4. In the second set, Rybakina made three breaks and confidently brought the matter to victory.
Elena will play in the Grand Slam final for the second time. She won Wimbledon last season.
