Srdjan Djokovic said hello to “brothers in Moscow”
Father of 21-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic Srdjan Djokovic caught on video with cheerleader in a T-shirt with Z symbol. The same fan was holding a Russian flag with a portrait of President Putin.
The video was filmed in Melbourne during the Australian Open 2023. On the recording, Djokovic Sr. says “Long live the Russians”, “our brothers in Moscow” and sends his regards to the famous Russian biker Alexander Zaldostanov, who holds actions in support of the policy of the Russian Federation.
Recall that at the Australian Open-2023 match between Djokovic and Russian Andrei Rublev, one of the fans in the stands was wearing a T-shirt with the Z symbol. Clothing items showing a white letter Z are included in the list of prohibited items at the Australian Open-2023.
Earlier, Ukrainian Ambassador to Australia Vasily Miroshnichenko appealed to the organizers of the Australian Open-2023 with a request to respond to the demonstration of the Russian flag during the match between Ukrainian Katerina Beindl and Russian Kamilla Rakhimova.
