Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk lost in the semi-final doubles on Australian Open 2023.
Paired with a Romanian Elena-Gabriela Ruse she lost in two sets to the defending champions of the tournament Barbora Kreychikova and Katerina Sinyakova from the Czech Republic. In the first game, with the score 2:2, Kostyuk and Ruse lost the next four games to their opponents. And in the second set, the Ukrainian and the Romanian also managed to win only two games, while giving up three of their submissions.
Kostyuk and Rousse made their debut semi-final in the doubles grid at the Grand Slam tournaments. Note that at the Australian Open-2023 tennis players managed to beat two seeded duets.
Kostyuk became the third Ukrainian woman to reach the semi-finals of the Australian Open in doubles. In 2008, Alena and Katerina Bondarenko became champions in Melbourne.
In the decisive match, Kreychikova and Sinyakova will meet with a pair of Shuko Aoyama / Ena Shibahara (Japan, 10). For the Czechs, this will be the eighth Grand Slam final. They have six titles to their credit.
