Russian tennis player Karen Khachanov earned A$925,000 for his performance at the Australian Open, according to Metaratings.ru.
It should be noted that given the taxation in Australia, the athlete will be obliged to return to the state approximately 45% of the prize money. So, the prize money for the Russian athlete will amount to 509 thousand dollars (25 million rubles).
Earlier on Friday, Khachanov lost in four sets to Greece’s representative Stefanos Tsitsipas in the Australian Open semi-finals – 6:7 (2:7), 4:6, 7:6 (8:6 ), 3:6.
The final match will take place in Melbourne on January 29. The Greek’s opponent will be determined in the match between Serbian Novak Djokovic and American Tommy Paul.
