Australian Open 2023 sets attendance record among Grand Slam tournaments

The 2023 Australian Open set a Grand Slam attendance record website competitions.

Tournament matches at Melbourne Park from January 16-29 were attended by 839,100 fans. The previous record was set in January 2020 and was 812.1 thousand people.

Over 63,000 fans watched qualifying in 2023. Thus, the total number of Australian Open viewers was 902.3 thousand.

The tournament also broke the one-day attendance record: on January 21, 94.8 thousand spectators came to the courts.

Serbian Novak Djokovic became the winner of the men’s singles tournament for the 10th time in his career, Arina Sobolenko of Belarus won the tournament in women’s singles.
