Zverev thanked ATP for not punishing him in domestic violence case

German tennis player Alexander Zverev expressed his gratitude to the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), which found no reason to take disciplinary action against him in the domestic violence case.

Earlier, it was reported that tennis player Olga Sharypova’s ex-girlfriend suffered from him during the Masters Series tournament in Shanghai in 2019. The investigation begins two years later. On Tuesday, the ATP announced that it would not sanction Zverev because “an independent investigation has not found sufficient evidence to support the published allegations of abuse”.

“From the outset, I have maintained my innocence and denied the unsubstantiated allegations. I have welcomed and fully cooperated with the ATP investigation and am grateful to the organization for their time and attention to this matter. .

The verdict means that the third-party arbitrator has analyzed all the necessary information and has rendered a clear and reasoned decision on this question in my favor.

I also filed lawsuits in Germany and Russia, which I won. I’m grateful that this issue is finally resolved, my priority now is to recover from injury and focus on what I love most in the world – tennis. I want to thank my friends, family and fans for their constant support. We went through a long and difficult process, justice prevailed,” Zverev wrote on the social network.

Zverev is the Olympic champion of the Tokyo Games, winner of 19 ATP singles tournaments.
