American Parks won the first title of his career, becoming the winner of the Lyon tournament

American tennis player Alicia Parks won the WTA tournament in Lyon by beating Frenchwoman Caroline Garcia in the last match.

Parks, 22, was stronger in straight sets, the match lasting just over two hours. Garcia played at the tournament in first-paddle status.

For the American, who currently sits 79th in the world rankings, the singles title was the first of her career – previously she had only won the WTA tournament as a couple once.
