Iga won their 33rd match in a row
Iga Schwentek became the last semi-finalist of the women’s singles tournament Roland Garros.
In the quarterfinals, the first racket of the world coped with the 11th seeded American Jessica Pegula 91 minutes on the court.
Iga completed four aces and converted five out of 11 breakpoints, giving her opponent one game on her own serve.
Sventek and Pegula played the third match between themselves: the Pole got the second victory over the American after the defeat in Washington in 2019.
In the semi-final, the first seeded opponent will be Daria Kasatkina, who defeated Veronika Kudermetova today.
Šventek won her 33rd match in a row and will play in the Roland Garros semi-finals for the second time, where she triumphed in 2020.
The second pair of semi-finalists were American Corey Gauff and Italian Martina Trevisan.
