Alexey beat the fourth seeded Italian Matteo Arnaldi
Ukrainian tennis player Alexey Krutykh successfully overcame the first round of qualification of the series tournament ATP 250 V Doha (Qatar).
Alexey beat the fourth seeded Matteo Arnaldi in two sets. Krutykh took revenge on the Italian for losing earlier this month in the quarter-finals of the Challenger in Tenerife.
In the first set, the Ukrainian took Arnaldi’s serve twice in a row, after which he confidently won the game. In the second set, the opponents showed an equal game, until the Italian was the first to make a mistake on the serve. Krutykh took advantage of the only break point and brought the match to victory.
For entering the main draw of the tournament in Doha, Alexei will fight the winner of the match Yuki Bhambri (India) – Pavel Kotov (-).
