In the quarter-finals, the Bulgarian had a hard fight against the Australian Alex de Minaura, which he won in three sets (6:3, 3:6, 7:6).
As for the personal meetings between Medvedev and Dimitrov, here the advantage is on the side of the Russian – 4:2. The teams have met three times over the past two seasons. Grigor beat the Russian at the 2021 Indian Wells Masters (4:6, 6:4, 6:3). Daniil beat the Bulgarian at the 2021 Cincinnati Masters (6:3, 6:3), as well as at the 2022 Vienna ATP-500 tournament in the semi-finals (6:4, 6:2).
