Russian tennis player Andrei Rublev reached the quarter-finals of the Doha tournament, in a tense match by beating the Dutchman Tallon Grikspur.
Greekspur, ranked 40th in the ATP rankings, won the first set with a big score of 6:1. Then Rublev, who played in Qatar in the first racket status of the tournament, won the second game with the same score.
In the decisive set, the Russian immediately allowed his opponent to win a point on his serve and lost long. With the score at 4:5, Rublev managed to break back, recovering three match points and then leading the game to victory in a tie-break.
In the quarterfinals, Rublev will play with the Czech Jiri Legechka. Later Wednesday, another Russian tennis player, Daniil Medvedev, will play his second-round match against Briton Liam Brody.
