Ukrainian performs in tandem with Elena Ostapenko
Ukrainian Lyudmila Kichenok paired with a representative of Latvia Elena Ostapenko advanced to the doubles semi-finals of the WTA 1000 event in Dubai.
In the 1/4 finals, Kichenok and Ostapenko defeated a pair of Zhaosuan Yang / Vera Zvonareva. The meeting lasted one hour and 50 minutes.
The Ukrainian-Latvian duet made a comeback during the meeting. Yielding after the first game (6:7, tiebreak – 3:7), Kichenok and Ostapenko took the second set (6:2) and managed to keep their advantage in the decisive game – 10:8.
In the semi-finals, Veronika Kudermetova and Lyudmila Samsonova will face Lyudmila and Elena. The match will take place tomorrow, February 24.
