Daniel Medvedev is back in the race for world tennis leadership, says Russian Tennis Federation (RTF) Vice-President Alexei Selivanenko.
Medvedev has already won the ATP tournament in Doha. In the final, the Russian dominated the Briton Andy Murray with a score of 6:4, 6:4.
– After winning the second tournament in a row, Daniil returns to the race for world tennis leadership. The match with Andy became, in fact, a duel between two “great masters of tennis”, in which Daniil turned out to be stronger, having made one more break in each set.
What did Daniel add? At this level, it is more about self-confidence and resilience. All leaders are improving in various components of the game, but the result is all in the complex, Selivanenko told RB Sport.
Medvedev won the second tournament in a row, last week he won the tournament in Rotterdam. In the updated ATP rankings, the tennis player is expected to rise to seventh place.
