Ukrainian tennis player Lyudmila Kichenok rose to eighth position in the doubles rating of the Women’s Tennis Association, setting a new Ukrainian record. Previously, she, Elena Tatarkova in 1999 and Ekaterina Bondarenko in 2008, were ranked ninth in the list.
Now Lyudmila rose even higher, because last week, together with Elena Ostapenko, they reached the semifinals of the prestigious WTA 1000 series tournament in Dubai, where they lost to the Russians Kudermetova and Samsonova.
The best in the ranking is Ekaterzhina Sinyakova (Czech Republic), followed by compatriot Barbora Kreychikova. The top three was closed out by Corey Gauff (USA).
