Russian tennis player Daniel Medvedev will top the ATP rankings again on June 13. This became known after the German Alexander Zverev (3rd place in the ranking) failed to reach the final of the Roland Garros tournament, which takes place in Paris.
On Friday, Zverev in the semi-final with Rafael Nadal suffered an injury in the second set, failing to finish the encounter.
Earlier, the Serbian Novak Djokovic (1st racket) could not reach the semi-finals, he lost against Nadal in the quarter-finals. Medvedev ended his performance in Paris in the fourth round, losing to Croatian Marin Cilic (2:6, 3:6, 2:6).
On June 6, when the rankings are updated, Novak Djokovic will retain the first row. However, on June 13, tennis players will exhaust the points they earned in previous Roland Garros draws (2020, 2021). This will allow Medvedev to be at the top of the rankings again.
Daniil ranked first in the ATP rankings from February 28 to March 21, 2022.
