Ukrainian tennis players had a different start to the competitions in Austin, USA.
The WTA250 series tennis tournament began in Austin, USA. The first for Ukrainian athletes are doubles competitions. At the same time, they graduated for our tennis players with different results.
Dayana Yastremska and Marta Kostyuk, who entered the tournament together, lost to hosts Alisha Parks and Sloane Stevens.
The game became quite tense. The first set ended with a score – 5:7 in favor of the Americans, then Yastremskaya and Kostyuk recovered, took the second set – 6:3. In the decisive third set, held in a tie-break format, the hosts of the competition were stronger 10:6.
In the next round, the Americans will play another Ukrainian Nadezhda Kichenok, who, together with the German Anna-Lena Friedsam, made it to the second round, defeating Adrien Nagy from Hungary and Lena Papadakis from Germany .
Note that it was also here in the third stage, where the Ukrainian and his partner won. 3:6, 6:2, 10:4 – in their favor.
