Russian tennis player Anna Kalinskaya beat the Japanese Nao Hibino at the start of the tournament in Austin (USA).
The Russian was stronger in three sets, the match lasted more than two hours.
In another match, 18-year-old Erika Andreeva beat Britain’s Harriet Dart in a tough match. The opponents spent 3.5 hours on the pitch, two of the three games ended in a tie-break.
In the second round, Kalinskaya will face the winner of the American confrontation Robin Montgomery and Coco Vandewey, while Andreeva will face either Dayana Yastremska of Ukraine or Germany’s Anna-Lena Friedsam.
