Hispanic Rafael Nadal will leave the top ten of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) after the end of the tournament in Indian Wells (USA).
Right now, Nadal is on the 8th row in the standings. It was previously announced that the 36-year-old tennis player will not play in Indian Wells, therefore, after the end of the Masters series tournament, he will drop points and drop out of the top ten. The Spaniard has been in the top 10 since April 2005.
Better to be in the top 10 than out. But it’s a miracle that I’ve never dropped below 10th place in 18 years with all the injuries I’ve had,” Jose Margado, a journalist, quoted Nadal on Twitter.
The Indian Wells 2023 tournament will take place from March 8-19.
Nadal is the former first racket in the world, the Spaniard shares with the Serbian Novak Djokovic the first place in the number of Grand Slam singles tournaments (22 each).
