Chesnokov – about Medvedev’s game: “He has foresight, he goes ahead where the ball will fly”

1995 Davis Cup finalist Andrei Chesnokov spoke about his strengths in a chat with Daniel Medvedev which helped him reach the final of the ATP 500 tournament in Dubai.

On Friday, Medvedev beat the Serb in the semi-finals Novak Djokovic . The Russian won in straight sets with the score 6:4, 6:4. The match lasted 1h36.

— Congratulations on the Russian final in Dubai! It is good for Russian tennis that one of our players wins the title. However, I prefer to see an international final. The interest of the world in this case increases.

The way Medvedev plays now is simply top notch! He is definitely in the top three. Even before the match, I said that it would be very difficult for Djokovic, and that would be the day when Medvedev would complete the winning march of the Serb. Daniil is moving very well now, playing tight. He has everything now. Imagine that you are playing against Medvedev, and you haven’t even hit the ball yet, and he is already standing in that corner. He has foresight, he goes ahead where the ball will fly, Chesnokov told .

In the final, Medvedev will play with another Russian – Andrei Rublev.
