Russian tennis player Andrey Rublev shared his emotions after the victory over the German Alexander Zverev in the semi-finals of the Dubai tournament (UAE).
The Russian defeated his opponent in straight sets with the score 6:3, 7:6 (11:9).
— I thought we were waiting for the third set. I was already preparing psychologically for the third set, but I managed to take the set.
With the score 9:9 in the tie-break, he said to himself: “Okay, we have to try to solve everything now.” Somehow, I got a bit lucky. Very tense tie-break.
Zverev and I are good friends, we have known each other since we were 10 years old. He has always been like a big brother to me. And consistently beat me in past matches. Today I thought that I had nothing to lose, – the ATP press service quoted Rublev.
In the final of the tournament, Rublev will play with the winner of the confrontation between Russian Daniil Medvedev and Serbian Novak Djokovic.
