In the semi-finals in Austin, the Ukrainian beat Danielle Collins in straight sets
Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk made its way into WTA 250 tournament final in American Austin.
In the semi-final, Kostyuk defeated American Danielle Collins in straight sets. In the first game, everything was decided by the only break that the Ukrainian could make in the seventh game. In the second set, Marta took Collins’ serve three times and confidently brought the matter to victory.
20-year-old Kostyuk reached the semi-finals of the WTA tournament for the fifth time and won for the first time. For her debut title at the WTA level, the Ukrainian will play against Russian Varvara Gracheva.
Thanks to reaching the final, Kostyuk guaranteed herself a new rating record. At the moment, the Ukrainian is already in 44th position, and if she wins the final, she will be able to rise to 40th place.
